Coimbatore Zoological Park and Conservation Center (CZPCC)  
 

CZPCC is registered under Tamil Nadu Socities Registration Act 1975, (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975) and it was founded in 1986 with the objective of establishing a modern zoo to meet the growing demands of this industrial city. Being a Conservation Center, it will not only be a zoo but also a botanical garden and the plants will be organized according to the forest type. The objective of establishing CZPCC is to promote environmental awareness through conservation education. The park will be an interpretation center for the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (NBR). It will focus its attention only on the Nilgiri fauna and flora. It will also be a research institution with a greater emphasis on captive breeding of endangered fauna and flora.

The Zoo will be developed in phases. Phase I will be development of a Mini Zoo with local Biodiversity conservation. For example invertebrates, amphibians and small mammals will be exhibited. Phase II will be the “NBR Arboretum for endemic and endangered flora” in an area of 3 acres with a focus on NBR plants. The NBR Arboretum project site will be utilized to teach about the biodiversity conservation, endemic and endangered value of plants and their conservation measures.

 
 

Arogyadham, Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot is a legendary and sacred place for the pilgrimage of Hindus. It is situated on the banks of the holy river Mandakini, admist the green hills of the Vindhyachal range. According to the legends, Lord Ram along with Sita and Lakshman, spent 11 and half years of his exile at Kamadgiri in Chitrakoot.

Deendayal Research Institute (DRI), was setup in 1968. The mission of DRI is: 1. To make the people of 500 villages (located around 50 km. radius of Chitrakoot region) self reliant through entrepreneurship, education, agriculture and health.
