International
Conference on Botanical Gardens and Sustainable Development
Venue and Date : Xishuangbanna, China, March 13,
2004
The development
of botanical gardens is one of the indications of human civilizations.
Botanical gardens are closely associated with the utilization and
protection of plant resources. They are important centers for conservation
of plant diversity, re-introduction and domestication. As ideal
places for recreation and tourism, botanical gardens serve an important
role in public education and academic exchanges. It is no doubt
that the development of botanical gardens in the world has contributed
a great deal to its socio-economic development.
The “International

Academy of Sciences (CAS) and in collaboration with BGCI and IABG
