The primary outcomes expected from the National Conference are as follows:

• A framework for establishing a network of Indian botanical gardens.
• The first draft of the National Action Plan.
• A national conservation programme and in particular, the small grants scheme.
• Priority topics for the Indian Botanic Gardens website.
• Priority information to be stored regarding Indian botanic gardens, their conservation collections and their activities.
• Priority areas for the model education programme.
• Vital presentations would be made.
• Discussions on certain national / international issues and key policies as per global strategy.
